Doug Wilson is an ordained pastor, a very helpful and capable spiritual leader to his family, covenant community, and the broader church of Christ.

Pastor Wilson and other "preachers" do not aim to expound the whole of the Bible in every article or sermon. The length of this article could not have included every possible application of the principles.

The point is to stir men to faithfulness. The assumption is that Christian men will be constantly familiarizing ourselves with God's Word and so be able to take an article or sermon and apply it ourselves in various contexts.

We need to hear preaching and read the words of ordained pastors with an eagerness to accept the Truth and pursue a righteous application without being completely dependent on them for specifics. We have to do some thinking on our own, with the precepts of the Holy Scriptures ever in our minds.
